I am a troubled sleeper. Always have been. Rather than drugging myself nightly with Ambien, I try to concoct a cocktail with amino acids and herbal roots to deliver the coveted sound sleep. I have tried Melatonin, Valerian root tea, 5 HTP and a Whole Foods sleep aid called DEEP SLEEP. Results vary on my type A–ness that day. In the NYT and some of my fave food blogs like The Nibble, I have learned about a non-alcoholic beverage that induces relaxation; the anti-Red Bull. UNWIND is laced with my fave relaxation go-tos-L theanine, rose hips valerian root and melatonin. With only 40 calories for a 12-ounce can (10 grams of sugar, the drink is all natural and OU kosher, in Citrus Orange, Goji Grape and Pom Berry) Will let you know if it delivers the tag line “vacation in a bottle.”
There is nothing more fun than helping women look and feel their best. I had book signing/styling sessions in Chicago this month with BUMP CLUB CHICAGO and NPN (Neighborhood Parents Network) and loved showing moms to be how to “bump up” their assets and channel their inner glamazons.

Purists like moi (love the pun!) love Mama Mio’s luxe, omega filled skin care. An added bonus is the fact that there are no synthetic colors, parebens or irritating petrochemicals lurking so the products are safe for pregnancy and beyond. The kit offer a mini boob tube, Omega Shower cream, Omega Body Cream, Omega Balm, a candle and Tummy Rub Oil
Want to bid adieu to crows feet? Brighten exhausted eyes? Arcona’s 4 piece kit targets wrinkles with cosmeceutical-grade ingredients, such as enzymes, antioxidants and amino acids which protect and deeply hydrate problem areas.
I despise beauty products that smell like a revolting marriage of bug repellant and GLADE. So, the fresh smelling THE BODY DELI, beauty products inspired by “living foods”, was right up my alley. The products incorporate raw, fresh, natural and organic ingredients, like organic yogurt, amino acids, fresh fruit and vegetables, and all-natural plant oils. All of the products are handmade in small batches and are so pure that pregnant women can enjoy them too.
